Hummingbird Haven is a Haven for Living Education. Here we have our main Kindergarten and Preschool Program as well as Groups for all ages. Through positive Coaching you can move into a solutions-based model for any challenge; in the home, relationships or business.
I named my business Hummingbird to signify a small but mighty initiative, like the Hummingbird. I also named it in memory of my late Father; Roy Weiler who instilled in me a love of learning and confidence through experience in nature. We also happened to ‘foster’ a family of Hummingbirds when I was young, whose nest was damaged in a storm. They grew to be healthy young birds and flew into their freedom when they were ready.
Hence the name ‘Haven’, a safe place where the young can grow, learn and develop to ‘fly’ into their own independent thinking and make the world a better place!
In this era of homeschooling education, there are so many varied directions we can take for our children. What remains a fundamental principle of education from time immemorial is the unparalleled experience of a healthy, respectful and inspired relationship between a teacher and student as well as a group setting with peers. In our time when homeschooling is on the rise, yet so is AI and online learning, the preservation of our human heritage relies on children continuing to have in person learning and real hands on experience of their education. It is part of learning how to live in a larger community with others that helps us grow into our full humanity. To have an adult that you, as the parent, trust and align with is absolutely crucial because together we work together towards your child’s growth into the future.

Shannon Weiler is the heart behind Hummingbird Haven, bringing a deep commitment to early childhood development and community-centered learning. Through a playgroup rooted in arts, traditional stories, song, crafts, movement, and daily outdoor exploration, she guides children in building strong social skills and foundations for higher learning at an age appropriate level.

Tutoring Groups for all Ages and Individualized Tutoring
Children build meaningful connections with peers through group activities. They experience enhanced mental and emotional development while expanding their individual thinking and consciousness.

Dress Up Birthday Parties with Guided Games
We come to your home or a public park to create a delightful and joyous enhancement to your child’s birthday party. A variety of costume themes are provided for each child to wear as they act out a story told by Shannon Weiler, accompanied by songs, music, and thematic presentation. Simple, non-competitive games are included to bring the group together in harmony and laughter.
The general age range is 3–12. Older birthdays are certainly possible with a different structure, age-appropriate games, and deeper peer connection.

Elevate Your Business
This is for businesses and corporations seeking innovative ways on site, to increase productivity and overall social/physical health in the workplace. It will actively engage each individual to participate with the whole group, increasing the health and overall success of a team. We work with you to evaluate your goals, strengths and weaknesses, customizing each session. This is a non-virtual, hands on experience, bringing energy and positivity.

About Shannon Weiler
Hello! A little about myself......
I was born in my home in the Redwoods. We always lived in the woods, and at some points in my life, I lived deep in the wilderness with no electricity or running water. We had a wonderful gravity-fed spring, candles, and a woodstove in the cabin. I did not grow up with television and always had a lot of time to explore living off the land. It's been a way of life my whole life, an inherent part of me.
My parents were loving and hardworking, and had a passion for freedom and independent thinking. My Father died when I was 15, which was a huge turning point in my life.
After college, I lived in Thailand for 6 months, farming with draft horses and learning the art of agriculture and animal husbandry. I then went through a full time 4-year intensive program for Education, Public Speaking, and Movement.
For the past 7 years, I have developed my Private Coaching and Consulting and Business Enhancement Workshops.
I have always had a passion for children as well as bringing people together in a real and dynamic way, because I see very clearly they are our future. What better way to improve our culture, than to form a new and alive form of education that inspires free and independent thinkers who can solve problems and work together. That's what we do here!
